Nur Zalali is a Bangladeshi painter and ceramic artist with an academic and creative journey spanning over four decades. He began his formal art education at the University of Dhaka, where he studied in the Fine Arts Department from 1981 to 1985, earning a Diploma in Ceramics. His early training laid a strong foundation in both traditional and contemporary practices.
In 1986, He was awarded a prestigious scholarship by the Government of China to pursue further studies at Tsinhua University (formerly QingHua University), Beijing. There, He completed a comprehensive Graduation five-year program (1986–1991) in the Fine Arts Department, specializing in Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, and Ancient Chinese Pottery. His academic excellence was recognized with multiple distinctions, including three class-best awards and a National Award for Ceramics.Dhaka bangladesh. Nur Zalali’s career includes four solo exhibitions and participation in over fourteen group exhibitions in Bangladesh and internationally—across countries such as Sweden, Germany, Italy, Canada,Australia, the United States, and Japan. His works are held in private collections and embassies around the world, reflecting his global reach and cross-cultural appeal.
His artistic practice spans modern abstract painting, realistic compositions, expressive drawing, and strong line and Seperide his works contemporary decorative ceramics. He has also benefited from the mentorship of guest artists and teachers from various countries, enriching his techniques and perspective.
Through his dedication to both painting and pottery, Nur Zalali continues to explore the emotional and visual language of form, surface, and color—establishing himself as a vital presence in the contemporary art scene.
